On Saturday, July 19th 2025, the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Wisconsin (UPAA-W) hosted a joyful summer picnic at the PCCCF Center. Despite the occasional rain showers, more than 45 members and their families gathered to enjoy a day filled with warmth, fellowship, and the comforting taste of home.
It was especially heartwarming to see attendees traveling from Green Bay, Madison, Racine, and Kenosha, proving that nothing can stop “kababayans” from coming together. Tables overflowed with delicious Filipino favorites—including lumpia, pancit, adobo, mechado, kalderetang kambing, sapin-sapin, and other traditional dishes that evoked memories of family celebrations back home.
UPAA-W President Ito Conti took the opportunity to share exciting news about three (3) awards that UPAA-W received, including the Best UP Alumni Group, a proud recognition of our members’ dedication and community impact. He also shared upcoming events and key dates, ensuring everyone is looking forward to more activities in the months ahead.
The afternoon was capped with lively rounds of bingo, where laughter and friendly competition filled the air, making the day even more memorable.
The 2025 summer picnic was more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of friendship, shared heritage, and the enduring spirit of the UP community in Wisconsin.
