The UP Alumni Association in America (UPAAA) has selected Romulo Gerardo S.A. “Gerry” Ramos as a 2025–2026 UP Alumni Awardee in the category of Architecture and Community Service. This prestigious recognition celebrates his exceptional contributions and the pride he brings to our alma mater. The award ceremony will take place during the Alumni Awards and Gala Night on Saturday, October 18, 2025, as part of the UPAAA 23rd Biennial Grand Reunion and Convention (GRC) at the Westin Galleria in Houston, Texas.

Gerry earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of the Philippines in 1970 and has since built a distinguished career in both the Philippines and the United States. He has served in senior architectural roles at firms such as BMR Design Group, Barrientos Design and Consulting, and Conrad S. Kristmann, Inc., and is currently the Principal Architect of his own firm, Ramos and Associates, LLC.

Beyond his professional achievements, Gerry has been a pillar of the Filipino American community in Wisconsin. As Executive Director of the Philippine Cultural and Civic Center Foundation (PCCCF) since 2000, he has led initiatives that include the establishment of the Philippine Center and a Free Medical Clinic serving thousands of under- and uninsured individuals. His leadership has also supported health fairs, literacy programs, and computer classes for seniors.

Gerry’s civic engagement extends to cultural institutions across Wisconsin. He has contributed to the Milwaukee Public Museum’s cultural programming, facilitated performances by Filipino artists at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and championed Filipino representation in the Asian Moon Festival through the Wisconsin Organization for Asian Americans of Milwaukee (WOAA).

He previously served as President of UPAA-Wisconsin in 1999 and 2000, and his enduring commitment to community service and cultural advocacy has earned him numerous awards and commendations.

Congratulations, Gerry, on this well-deserved honor!
