On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Ito Conti attended the 40th UP Alumni Council Meeting held at Ang Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman, Quezon City. The theme for this year’s event was “Securing Our Future: Advancing Cybersecurity Education and Talent Development in the Philippines.”
UPAA President and Alumni Regent Robert Lester Aranton delivered the Welcome Remarks. The Keynote Address was given by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, represented by Undersecretary Leonardo Roy Cervantes.
A panel discussion led by UPAA Director Herminio Bagro III featured experts from the Department of Justice (CITO Jose Arturo Malvar), UP (VP Peter Sy), and IBM, who shared their experiences and insights on cybersecurity challenges.
Afterward, the UPAA Board presented several resolutions on cybersecurity. UP President Angelo Jimenez responded thoughtfully, emphasizing the importance of quality education and proper training to prepare students for careers in digital technology.
It was truly an informative and enlightening event, underscoring the alumni community’s commitment to advancing cybersecurity education in the Philippines.
