UPAA-W Annual Summer Picnic 2026 Brings Alumni, Families, and Friends Together

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Wisconsin (UPAA-W) held its annual picnic on July 18 at the Philippine Center, and what a wonderful day it was!

After some concern about the air quality, the skies cleared just in time for us to gather outdoors and enjoy a beautiful, sunny day together. The picnic was very well attended, with UPAA-W members, families, and guests coming together to celebrate friendship, community, and our shared Filipino heritage.

As always, the food was one of the highlights of the day! There was an incredible variety of delicious Filipino dishes, desserts, and fruits, with something for everyone to enjoy. And, of course, the proverbial Filipino delicacy—balut—even made an appearance!

The fun continued with a full lineup of games and activities that brought out everyone’s competitive spirit and plenty of laughter. Participants enjoyed Hot Water Bottle, our own version of the classic hot potato; a water balloon toss; a three-legged relay race; an egg relay race; and, of course, the ever-popular Limbo Rock—a true test of our tired old bones!

The winners went home with some great prizes, including golf umbrellas, picnic blankets, grill sets, tote bags, and more. But the real prize was spending a beautiful day together with friends and fellow UP alumni.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this year’s picnic such a memorable and successful event. We are also incredibly grateful to our picnic organizing committee—Beaver Flores, Trina Bando, and Roselle Rogers—for all their hard work and dedication in putting together another fantastic UPAA-W annual picnic.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
