Scholarship Awards

UPAA-W offers two kinds of scholarship.  The first is the Guansing-Regala Scholarship which  is offered to Wisconsin graduating high school seniors entering thier freshman year in any accredited college campus.  The second is a UP system-wide scholarship offered to incoming seniors in any of the campus of the University of the Philippines.  Below are the specific qualifications and benefits for each of the scholarship.

UPAA-W Guansing Regala Scholarship

 The scholarship is a one-time award given to graduating high school seniors.

Up to $1000 will be awarded based on the criteria of merit and financial need. Recipient(s) must submit verification of attendance/enrollment to the post-secondary school that he attends in order to receive his award. A scholarship not claimed by December 31st of the year of award will be forfeited.

Eligibility for Scholarship

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following:

  • Filipino parentage.
  • A resident of Wisconsin.
  • GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Graduating from a Wisconsin high school and admitted to a degree/certificate program at a fully accredited public/private institution (2-year technical and continuing to 4-year or 4-year bachelor’s program).
Application Requirements
  • Transcript of academic records.
  • Copy of ACT/SAT results.
  • Work history.
  • Co-curricular activities.
  • Community activities
  • A 250-word essay on career goals, personal values, and experiences.
  • Financial information to be submitted by the parent/guardian.

UPAA-W System-wide Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to one student per year in any of the campus of the University of the Philippines. The UPAA-W Scholarship Committee coordinates with the Office of Scholarships and Student Services (OSSS) in UP Diliman Quezon City to select the scholarship recipient(s). Eligibility for Scholarship

To be eligible to apply for the UPAA-W System-wide scholarship, applicants must meet the following:

  • A senior student from any College of the University of the Philippines System-wide provided that the student will complete his/her studies in two (2) semesters.
  • Earned an average grade of 2.5 or better and must have carried a load of at least 15 units with no grade of “5.00” or unremoved “4.00” or “INC” in the semester immediately preceding the application.
  • Financially needy (parents’ annual gross income must not exceed P300,000).
  • Not have been subjected to any disciplinary action.
Benefits
  • School fees as assessed but not to exceed P20,000.00 per semester.
  • Book allowance of P4,000.00 per semester.
  • Monthly stipend at P3,000 x 5 months or P15,000.00 per semester.
  • Total grant of  P39,000.00 per semester or P78,000 per year.
