On August 22, 2025, the UP Alumni Association of Wisconsin (UPAA‑W) established the UPAA‑W Scholarship for Freshmen, a new scholarship program designed to provide financial assistance to academically qualified first‑year students from any college and course within the University of the Philippines system.
The scholarship provides book allowances and monthly stipends for one academic year and is awarded to two (2) outstanding freshman students. For First Semester, Academic Year 2025–2026, two deserving students from UP Diliman have been selected as the inaugural recipients.
Scholarship Recipients (AY 2025–2026)

Kyle Binasa
BA Psychology, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, UP Diliman
Kyle is from Marikina City. He graduated Valedictorian from Leodegario Victorino Elementary School, received the St. Bellarmine Award for Academic Excellence from Ateneo de Manila Junior High School, and graduated with a Silver Medal (Second Honors) from Ateneo de Manila Senior High School.
Kyle expressed his deep gratitude to UPAA‑W, noting that the scholarship will help shoulder his college expenses. He shared his commitment to work hard this semester and prove himself worthy of the support extended to him.

Francis William Flores
BS Electronics Engineering, College of Engineering, UP Diliman
Francis is from Taguig City. He completed his elementary education With High Honors at Cavite School of Life, graduated With High Honors from Dasmariñas Integrated High School for junior high school, and also With High Honors from University of Perpetual Help System DALTA for senior high school.
Francis conveyed his sincere appreciation for the support he received from UPAA‑W and pledged to study diligently as he begins his college journey.
