UPAA-W provides funding for professorial chair to deserving faculty staff to support research, teaching, and service activities. The main objective is to assist UP retain and attact distinguished faculty members.
UPAA-W Professorial Chair
The scholarship is a one-time award given to graduating high school seniors.
The UPAA-W Professorial Chair was originally established on March 5, 1981 for a Professor in Physics or Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. Thereafter, on May 22, 2021, this award was modified to provide an honorarium every year to a Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Social Sciences and Philosophy in alternate years.
Eligibility
The eligibility requirements shall be determined by the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
Award
The award is a lump sum amount of P75,000 every year per person.
Asuncion Miteria Austria – UPAA-W Professorial Chair
On July 25, 2019, the Asuncion Miteria Austria – UPAA-W Professorial Chair was set up for an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
Eligibility
- Preferably tenured Assistant Professors who are advanced PhD students at the dissertation stage or new PhDs (received their degree within the last 3 years)
- Completed or about to complete the PhD in a timely manner (within 6 years for those who applied with an MA in our field, 8 years for others)
- Has at least 2 peer-reviewed publications while earning the PhD
Award
The award is a lump sum amount of P60,000 every year per person. Up to 2 individuals may receive this award per year.
